Not a day goes past when you don’t walk around and see some kind of graphic blazoned on the front of a t-shirt. What is a little harder to find is something adorning the front of a garment that you’d actually want there, but graniph buck that trend. One of the original graphic t-shirt facilitators who have a healthy appetite for uncovering and supporting new artists. This month at KK OUTLET they are exhibiting all the winning designs from this year’s installment of their annual design competition.

Lovely little mantra and even better work from Studio Lin. The work seems to have really thrived on working for some of the biggest names in the business including The Guggenheim Museum and The New York Times. Alex’s collaboration with Lisa Naftolin on an invitation for Erwan Frotin’s Wildflowers exhibition at Art+Commerce, is a thing of beauty. Who wouldn’t want a personally airbrushed gradient on the side of their invitation?

We Are The Friction is an international illustration and short fiction cage match between 24 writers and illustrators. Refereed by Sing Statistics: the collaborative concern of Jez Burrows and Lizzy Stewart. Prepare your enormous foam fingers for July 23rd, when the book will be launched at venerable Edinburgh institution Analogue Books (Facebook event here). An exhibition of all illustrations will then be displayed in Analogue until August 31st.

In March, people in India and other countries with large Hindu populations celebrated Holi, the Festival of Colors. Holi is celebrated as a welcoming of Spring, and a celebration of the triumph of good over evil. What that translates to in action is an enthusiastic dropping of inhibitions, as people chase each other and playfully splash colorful paint, powder and water on each other. Amazing !

Three new exhibitions just opened in the Graphic Design Museum in Breda, The Netherlands. Definitly worth to have a look if you’re in The Netherlands!
One of them contains recent work of graphic design studio Thonik. Like the museum says: ‘Last year the studio attracted international attention with its design for the visual identity of the Architecture Biennale in Venice and its first retrospective in the Shanghai Art Museum. GDM Director Mieke Gerritzen says, ‘After establishing such a prominent international profile, it is high time Thonik was given the space to show its magnificent work in a Dutch museum.’
